Event Spaces

If your property / properties are marketed as a formal event space, please note the following:

  • Formal events include, but are not limited to:
    • Weddings
    • Family reunions
    • Celebrations/parties
    • Business retreats
    • Video shoots
  • Event spaces and common areas will not be covered for any losses.
  • Unless Safely is notified prior to the arrival date that a reservation is related to a hosted event, the contracted policy costs will be charged on the reservation.
  • Reservations tied to an event may not be eligible for Safely coverage if the losses are determined to be related to the event. All claims will be reviewed when filed.

To remove coverage on a reservation that is related to a hosted event, please choose one of the following options:

  • On some PMS systems, you can create a unique reservation code.  We recommend that you add a code for "events" that Safely can exclude from your coverage. Once the code is created, send an email to concierge@safely.com to let them know that this code should be excluded from coverage.

  • If your PMS does not allow that option, you can exclude properties that are used for events by sending an email to concierge@safely.com with the reservation ID, arrival / departure dates, and guest name. Ask that Safely remove the reservation from coverage due to the property being used for an event. This request must be sent prior to the reservation arrival date in order to be excluded.

As with any claim, final determination is made by the underwriter.  Our guidance is based on Safely's interpretation of the policy based on prior claims.
